Hi, I’m Steve Stirgwolt and I want to say thanks for logging on to our website! Here’s a bit of the history of our agency that sells fun, quality lines at wholesale to quality retailers, primarily in the state of Ohio, and select lines to stores in Western Pennsylvania and the state of West Virginia.
Stirgwolt & Associates began in the 1980's when my parents became charter members of what is now the Midwest Gift Association, known to the trade as the Columbus MarketPlace. At the time, it was located in downtown Columbus, OH and eventually moved to its’ present site at 7001 Discovery Blvd in Dublin. In 2001 I acquired the business and with my wife, Toni, set out to build a rep agency that has expanded to offer diversified products for the gift, garden, home, juvenile, and paper gift markets. I am happy to have previously served in various capacities on the Columbus MarketPlace Board of Directors. The Columbus Marketplace is officially closed as of November 30, 2019
Yes, I was the indentured servant who cleaned shelves in my parents’ showroom, with the hope of one day finding a “real” job! After what seemed like an eternity, I got the real job in Electrical Engineering, and, to my horror, found that I was genetically programmed since birth to be a salesman!! I began selling on the road in 1985, and bring the experiences of the School of Hard Knocks to the business.
Toni brings the discipline of the corporate world to the table, as she has held Sales Management positions for major manufacturers and a mid-Atlantic based rep agency. She has also been the Director of Sales & Marketing for a paper gift company, and if it weren’t for that company, I would not have met her at a trade show! I genuinely love what I do, and enjoy the retailers and manufacturers that we represent. This love of the business is what I share with our dedicated sales force, and that is what each one of them feels, too! We take pride in the integrity, honesty, and professional service we give our retailers and manufacturers…and we do it with an upbeat, can do attitude!
Our sales reps are furnished with the Commi$$ioner software system in their laptops and have the tools at their fingertips to effectively help the retailer manage their business. We provide solid training to our reps and unlimited support. We call on all types of businesses: from the chain stores to the small town entrepreneur; from the established retailer to the ones just getting started. Each one is valuable to us!
